CIVIC AMENITY SITE
Mulleady's Civic Amenity Site was opened in June 2006. This site allows
the public to drive in with their recyclables and deposit them into various
holding receptacles.
The Civic Amenity site will help with the Government target of the diversion
of 50% of waste from landfill and with the recycling of 35% of municipal
waste.
Items accepted at this site include:
- cardboard
- newspapers and magazines
- junk mail
- plastic bottles
- plastic film
- tin cans
- aluminium cans
- timber
- metal
- green waste
- glass
- waste oil
- fluorescent tubes
- batteries (large and small)
- textiles
- large and small electrical goods
Cardboard, paper, tetra pak, plastic bottles, textiles, tin cans, aluminium
cans and electrical goods (domestic origin) ) are taken in free of charge.
Commercial outlets must pay for waste electrical goods disposed of at
the facility.
All other items i.e. green waste, glass, timber, metal, waste oil, fluorescent
tubes, batteries and general waste all incurring a charge at various rates
per kilo.
This site is well laid out with signs on each skip for ease of use. We
would ask our customers to adhere to any instructions given while using
this site.
Opening Hours
The Civic Amenity Site is open 8am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and from
9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
