What happens if the wrong material is put into the blue recycling bin?
It is very important to place only the correct materials into this recycling bin. If unacceptable materials are put into the recycling bin wheelie bin then it will not be emptied, as this would lead to the contamination of the entire recyclables collection.
A red sticker indicating rejection will be placed on the handles of your blue wheelie bin if contamination occurs.
It is important to rinse out cans, tins, bottles, and cartons containing any food residues as these materials can only be recycled if they are clean. Paper must also be clean and dry. Please remember that our employees have to handle the dry recyclables at our facility.
