Wheelie Bin Collection
Mulleady’s household bins.
We provide a door to door service in all areas of Co. Longford and parts of Co. Westmeath, Co. Leitrim and Co. Cavan.
Customers must register with us in advance to avail of our service. Once registered each household customer receives a 240 litre wheelie bin for waste (black), a 240 litre bin for dry recyclables (blue) and depending on the location a 30 litre caddy bin (brown) for food waste. Bins are provided by us for the duration of the service. It is important to note that all bins provided by us remain our property and are for the sole purpose of servicing by us. They must not be used for any other purpose or by any other contractor.
We offer 2 different payment options for householders:
- Pay By Weight
- Pay by Lift (eTAG)
Pay by Weight
Under our Pay by Weight system you pay an annual service charge and for the weight contents in your general waste bin, you do not pay any weight charge for the contents of your recycling bin. Pay by Weight is our most popular and successful system as the more you recycle and divert from landfill, the less you pay.
Invoices are issued once yearly, every January for the year ahead. You can pay your invoice in full when you receive it (yearly) or you can split it into half yearly, quarterly or monthly instalments. Payments are due in advance of the term, credit is not given. As invoices are issued in advance, your waste is estimated. If you produce less than your estimated weight during that period, a credit for the unused weight will be applied on your next invoice. Likewise if you produce more than your estimated weight for that period, a debit for the excess weight will be applied on your next invoice.

Above service charge is based on a standard 240 litre waste & 240 litre recycling bin.
Pay by Lift (eTAG)
This new innovative system replaces the outdated Paper Tag which will soon be obsolete. You do not have to place anything on your bin on collection day therefore no more problems with bin tags being stolen or being blown off in windy weather. The system is completely automated and works on the same principal as prepaid mobile phones. You top up your account with credit in advance, each time we empty your wheelie bin we deduct the cost of the lift from your account.
- Standard 240 Litre Waste Bin €10.50 per empty
- Standard 240 Litre Recycling Bin €4.50 per empty
Your account must have sufficient credit on it before you present your wheelie bin for collection. If you do not have sufficient credit, your wheelie bin cannot be emptied.
You receive a Mulleady’s payment card when you register. To top up your account with credit simply visit any of the Payzone outlets listed, present your Mulleady’s card and top up by the desired amount. You can also top up online on our website or over the phone using a debit or credit card so you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home! And if your account balance runs low, we will send you a text reminder.
Pay by Lift (Paper TAG)
We have now replaced our Paper Tag with the new innovative eTag (details above). Over the coming months our existing Paper Tag customers will be switched to eTag. If you are currently using Paper Tags and would like to switch to eTag then please contact us and we will arrange this.
Customers please note that only the material inside the bin will be emptied and the bin lid must be fully closed. Excess material alongside or on top of the bin will not be taken unless it is in a prepaid Mulleady’s bag. You may be liable for a littering fine from your local authority if excess material is left alongside or on top of your bin.
